EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview
West Brom vs Brighton
Brighton (-105) are coming off a disappointing 2-1 loss to Palace last weekend, however, they are slight road favorites in this one against West Brom. West Brom pulled off a solid draw against Burnley last weekend but still sit 11 points into the relegation zone. Time is running out for them to save their season. Brighton also need this result badly as they sit just four points clear of relegation. I expect Brighton to show that they are the better team here, but it will not be pretty. There is not going to be a ton to like for DFS purposes in this game. The goal total over/under is 2.5.
Leeds vs Aston Villa
These two teams have been sitting firmly in the middle of the table for a while now. Neither can consistently get good results to push them into Europa League contention. Leeds (+130) are very slightly favored at home in this one. This should be a back-and-forth game with scoring chances at both ends with goals. This game has the highest goal total over/under at 3.0 and will be very popular from a DFS standpoint on Saturday's slate.
Newcastle vs Wolverhampton
This is a matchup of low-scoring teams (both average just 1.04 goals per game) with the away side, Wolverhampton (+120), favored. After a spell of poor form, Wolves have three wins in their last four games now. Newcastle have been one of the worst teams in the league over the last few months and are just three points clear of relegation now. Wolves will have the advantage in this game on the road, and I will dive more into who I like specifically coming up. The goal total over/under is only 2.0.
FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders
With the nature of this slate, there are many players who are priced up a few dollars with only a few true studs in action. Jack Grealish ($20) is still fairly priced. He has a great matchup against a Leeds defense that has been poor all season. They are bottom-five in goals allowed, shots on target allowed, and chances created allowed. This gives Grealish both a high ceiling and a high floor on Saturday. Ollie Watkins ($22) is a little pricey here, but he has a good matchup against this weak Leeds backline. He is +130 to score in this game.
Raphina ($19) has been awesome fantasy-wise for Leeds recently with 29.2 fantasy points on average over his last seven EPL games. He's facing an Aston Villa side that has been solid defensively even on the road. However, Raphina has shown his ability to perform well in tough matchups especially with the attacking style that Leeds plays.
Neal Maupay ($18) has the matchup that every striker dreams of this season against West Brom. They're allowing 2.2 goals per game which is by far the worst in the league. Maupay has +125 anytime scoring odds and has good goal upside in this plus matchup. Leandro Trossard ($17) has been playing well, but I'll take Pascal Gross ($16) for $1 less as a secondary Brighton piece in this matchup.
Newcastle is allowing 2.25 goals per game in their last four games, so I'd like some Wolves exposure too. Pedro Neto ($18) is the player to prioritize for this team right now followed by Ruben Neves ($17).
The value attackers on this slate are really not good at all, but Alexis Mac Allister ($11) sparks some interest for me in this matchup.
FanDuel DFS Defenders
Leeds force the most defense action out of their opponents among the six teams on this slate. That puts Aston Villa defenders like Ezri Konso Ngoyo ($10) and Ahmed El Mohamady ($6) into my player pool. Both are fairly priced and in a good matchup.
Brighton force a ton of clearances so Kyle Bartley ($13) should feast on Saturday. Bartley also has eight straight double-digit games. He has a strong floor on this slate. Dara O'Shea ($9) is a nice value play for West Brom's defense if you cannot find the money for Bartley.
Diego Llorente ($7) looks set to get another start this weekend after a nice performance last weekend. He has gone for 15+ fantasy points in both of his EPL starts this season. This is a solid game environment for him as well making him a steal for $7.
FanDuel DFS Goalkeepers
Newcastle's defense has not been able to stop anyone lately, but Martin Dubravka ($5) might start for minimum price. That is going to be tough to fade in this game against a Wolves team that is scoring less than one goal per game on the road. If you fade Wolves attackers, Dubravka makes sense in a GPP build.
Brighton's defense is better than you expect on the road this year, and West Brom just cannot find the back of the net. They have 19 goals in 25 league games this year with only eight of those at home. Robert Sanchez ($11) is a strong mid-tier play. He has a good floor with a likely win bonus and can put up 20+ with a clean sheet bonus.
