Hyun-Jin Ryu Pitches Four Shutout Innings
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays ace pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched four scoreless innings against the Detroit Tigers on Monday. He allowed two hits and no walks while striking out four batters. He was facing many of the Tigers' top hitters. Through two spring appearances, Ryu has allowed three hits and just one walk over six innings. Toronto will rely heavily on Ryu to lead an uncertain starting rotation that should also include reclamation projects Robbie Ray, Steven Matz, and Tanner Roark, as well as rookie Nate Pearson (once he's healthy). Ryu is coming off of a strong 2020 season and could be even more valuable in most fantasy formats with the Jays' retooled, high-powered offense behind him.
