4 years agoWashington Wizards small/power forward Davis Bertans (calf) has been deemed unavailable to return for Thursday's contest against the Jazz after departing early due to a tight right calf. Prior to leaving, Bertans played four minutes off the bench and made his lone field goal, adding one blocked shot. Such an early departure lands Bertans firmly in dud territory, as he has now scored in single digits in each of his last four appearances. Deni Avdija and Isaac Bonga stand to see increased roles on the wing without Bertans, although his long range marksmanship is likely not to be replaced, changing the second unit's offensive rhythm. His next chance to return comes Sunday versus Brooklyn.--Jesse Borek
