Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Faces Extended Absence
4 years agoOklahoma City Thunder point/shooting guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (foot) is on track to miss multiple games due to a plantar fasciitis issue in his right foot. Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault was reluctant to refer to the injury as a long-term issue Wednesday, but he did say that it was more serious than a day-to-day ordeal. OKC will roll with the starting backcourt of Theo Maledon and Luguentz Dort on Wednesday, with the duo likely to see extended run and increased offensive roles so long as Gilgeous-Alexander remains out of the mix. In the midst of a breakout campaign that has seen him average 23.7 points, 5.9 assists and 4.7 boards per contest, Gilgeous-Alexander's return date is a true unknown at this point.
