4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks shortstop Nick Ahmed (knee) was placed on the 10-day Injured List on Saturday. This isn't particularly surprising, as earlier reports had indicated that a stint on the sidelines might be in Ahmed's future, given that his lingering patellar tendonitis has kept him out of game action since March 24. In a corresponding move, Arizona has called up promising shortstop prospect Geraldo Perdomo. Perdomo has limited experience above Single-A ball but will help to hold down the shortstop position with Josh Rojas for as long as Ahmed is out.--Tim Capurso
