4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker (eye) is considered day-to-day with an eye injury. Walker had to leave the game in the bottom of the fourth inning after being hit in the face by a throw, which caused some swelling in the area under his eye. Manager Torey Lovullo said that Walker is day-to-day with a contusion and a cut under his left eye- saying that the club believes they "dodged a major bullet." That's some positive news for a team that has been bit by the injury bug early on, with Zac Gallen (forearm), Kole Calhoun (knee), and Nick Ahmed (knee) all currently sidelined. Pavin Smith would take over the first-base duties if Walker has to sit Sunday.--Tim Capurso
