Jonah Heim Starts Behind The Plate
4 years agoTexas Rangers catcher Jonah Heim is in the starting lineup for the first time this year. The rookie backstop came over to the Rangers from the Oakland Athletics during the offseason in the Khris Davis trade. He appeared in 13 games last season and showed a strong eye with a BB-K of 3-3 in 38 at-bats. The 25-year-old had a rough spring and hit just .148 with a .480 OPS in 11 games. Heim is looking to get a solid hold on a big-league catching gig with top-catching prospect Sam Huff and his powerful bat waiting at the alternate training site for another MLB opportunity. Heim will be facing Brady Singer of the Kansas City Royals.
