BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 24% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Josh Rojas was one of the stars of the Cactus League this year for Arizona, slashing .347/.405/.583 with four home runs. While those numbers are gaudy, maybe even more relevant is the fact that he was among the leaders in plate appearances across the entire major leagues with 79 trips to the plate. Arizona took a good long look at what they had in Rojas, and it seems they liked what they saw.
Rojas has been in the lineup for each of the Diamondbacks' first four games of the year, and appears to be entrenched as the leadoff hitter against right-handed pitching. With Nick Ahmed on the Injured List, Rojas also should pick up shortstop eligibility within the next week or so.
While the early returns have not been impressive with just one hit in 17 at-bats, don't panic just yet. It's been less than one week since the season began. It isn't just any player that can post 20-home run and 30-steal upside, but that's just what Rojas offers. In 2019, across three teams and two levels Rojas hit those marks, slashing .332/.418/.606 with 23 homers and 33 steals. There's a reason he was one of the main pieces coming back to Arizona in the Zack Greinke trade. Free for fantasy managers off waiver wires, Rojas has the ability to contribute in all categories.
