BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 36% of leagues
ANALYSIS: At first glance, Logan Webb doesn't seem to offer much upside, either in the real world of baseball or in the fantasy world. After all, this is a player who has a career 5.35 ERA with a 1.54 WHIP and 7.97 K/9 across 99 1/3 Major League innings. It could be argued that he's had a bit of bad luck, as his career FIP is more than a full run lower than his ERA. Still, nothing to write home about.

Webb started five games in spring, totaling 17 innings, striking out 22 batters while allowing only seven hits, two walks, and a lone earned run. Even when hitters did make contact, Webb limited the damage by posting a 2.00 ratio of ground ball outs to fly ball outs, well above his previous career-high.
It appears that all these improvements are the results of Webb's offseason work on his off-speed pitches, specifically a change-up which has drawn comparisons to that of Luis Castillo, who happens to throw the strongest statistically-performing change-up in the major leagues. He didn't have a great first outing of 2021, allowing three runs on seven hits over five and a third innings, but slotting in as the third starter for San Francisco, Webb is still worth an add now. He has the potential to pay dividends all year long.
