Jose Trevino Keeps Hitting
4 years agoTexas Rangers catcher Jose Trevino's hot start to the year continued during Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. The 28-year-old catcher had two singles to push his season average up to .412 and he's had at least one hit in every game. Through four games, he's 7-for-17 with four strikeouts but has yet to record an extra-base hit or take a walk. Trevino has proven to be a modest-hitting catcher throughout two-plus seasons and is coming off a 2020 season that saw him produce an 89 wRC+ in 24 games. He's sharing the catching duties with rookie Jonah Heim and top catching prospect Sam Huff is at the alternate training site.
