4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger (calf) has been ruled out for Friday's home opener against the Nationals. Bellinger is dealing with a sore calf after taking a spike to the leg on Tuesday. Tests revealed no structural damage to the leg, though manager Dave Roberts hasn't ruled out an injured list stint for the talented slugger, who could be forced to miss some time beyond just Friday's game. Bellinger shouldn't be out for an extended period of time, though any absence would mean more at-bats for Chris Taylor and potentially Zach McKinstry.--Tim Capurso
