Steven Matz Throws Six Strong Innings
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Steven Matz had his second strong start of the season during the club's 15-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday. The left-hander allowed one run in six innings of work. He walked three batters and struck out four. He improved to 2-0 on the season and his ERA now sits at 1.46. His K-BB ratio is a strong 13-4 with seven hits allowed in 12.1 innings. Most importantly, he's allowed just one home run after getting crushed for 14 long-balls in 30.2 innings last season with the New York Mets. Matz was acquired in the offseason for a collection of unproven young arms. If he's available in your fantasy league, he's likely worth a low-cost addition.
