Dane Dunning Throws Four Shutout Innings
4 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher Dane Dunning had a solid start wasted when the club's offense failed to ignite on Monday. The club fell 1-0 to the Tampa Bay Rays and starter Tyler Glasnow who struck out 15 batters. Dunning did not allow a run in four innings of work. He gave up two hits and two walks and struck out five. Just two years removed from Tommy John surgery, the club is being cautious with his workload early in the season. The rookie has perhaps been the club's most reliable starter this year. In two starts, he has a 1.00 ERA in nine innings. He's allowed just five hits and has a K-BB of 11-2. Last season, Dunning posted a 3.97 ERA with a K-BB of 35-13 in 34 innings of work.
