Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Will Miss At Least Two More Weeks
4 years agoOklahoma City Thunder point/shooting guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (foot) will be down for at least the next two weeks as he continues to rehab plantar fasciitis, head coach Mark Daigneault revealed Friday. Gilgeous-Alexander faces a muddled path to returning to action this season, especially as OKC has shown a propensity for erring on the side of caution as it pertains to their players' health in 2020-21. Theo Maledon and Luguentz Dort figure to continue seeing the largest role increases with Gilgeous-Alexander unavailable, although Ty Jerome and Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk will also get added chances with the second unit. There will only be just over two weeks remaining on the calendar even in the best-case scenario for Gilgeous-Alexander, meaning that the vast majority of season-long managers can begin to consider cutting ties in redraft formats.
