Vernon Carey Jr. Draws First Career Start Friday
4 years agoCharlotte Hornets center Vernon Carey Jr. has soared up the depth chart and will make his first career start during Friday's contest against the Nets. Having played a combined 33 minutes over 10 games in his rookie year, Carey is something of a DFS wild card due to being an unproven commodity. During his lone campaign at Duke, Carey averaged 17.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, an indication of the double-double potential that he carries. Should he snag extended minutes at the five for the Hornets moving forward, he could be an appealing waiver wire add over the final month of the season.
