4 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo broke out in a big way on Sunday versus the Atlanta Braves. Rizzo went 3-for-4 with a pair of singles and a triple on the afternoon. Rizzo has been off to a slow start, but raised his OPS from .597 to .708 with the strong performance. Rizzo has always been a streaky hitter, but has recorded seven hits over his last 14 at-bats with three walks. He is now hitting .229 with one home run, two RBI and a pair of stolen bases. The power hasn't been there yet for the first baseman, but managers shouldn't worry about that with Rizzo's track record.
