4 years agoThe Chicago Cubs have sent relief pitcher Jason Adam to the teams alternative training site. Adam had a solid 3.29 ERA in 2020, but has really struggled this season. Adam has a 9.45 ERA in 6 2/3 innings this season. Replacing Adam will be relief pitcher Trevor Megill. Megill will be making his big-league debut whenever he makes his debut and owns a career 3.38 ERA with 10 saves in four minor league seasons. Megill will likely debut in a low leverage situation, but the Cubs bullpen has struggled outside of closer Craig Kimbrel and Megill will have a chance to carve out a role if he pitches well.
