4 years agoChicago Bulls power forward/center Daniel Theis (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against Detroit due to a hip contusion. Theis has increased upon his production since joining the Bulls, averaging 10 points and 5.9 boards across 22 contests. His absence is likely to allow Lauri Markkanen and Thaddeus Young to see bumps in both minutes and offensive contributions. While the Bulls are set for a four-game week during season-long championship matchups next week, Theis' hip ailment sounds as if it will at least earn him a mention on the injury report heading into Tuesday's outing versus the Nets.--Jesse Borek
