Matt Duffy Placed On 10-Day Injured List
4 years agoChicago Cubs utility man Matt Duffy (back) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 23 with a lower back strain. Duffy tried to avoid the injured list, but his back isn't improving and the extra time should help him recover. Duffy has carved out a nice role as a super utility man for the Cubs and is hitting .278 with one home run, 12 RBI and three RBI on the year. His absence should lead to more at-bats for infielders David Bote and Eric Sogard. Both Bote and Sogard should be avoided outside of DFS in favorable matchups. Infielder Patrick Wisdom will replace Duffy on the roster with relief pitcher Jason Adam being designated for assignment. Wisdom is unlikely to see much action and can remain on the waiver wire.
