3 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Detroit Tigers. Torres got the scoring started for New York in the eighth inning with an RBI single. Each of his batted balls were hit at exit velocities of 93 MPH or greater, though his solid day at the plate was overshadowed by a poor one in the field, as he committed a pair of errors. After a brief 0-for-9 stretch, Torres has collected three hits in as many games ahead of a series with the Tampa Bay Rays. He's 1-for-14 so far against Tampa Bay this season.--Tim Capurso
