3 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 1-for-3 with three RBI, driving in all three runs in the Mets 3-2 win over the Cubs on Tuesday. Alonso has been hot of late, slashing .320/.379/.720 over his past seven games, with three home runs and nine RBI over 25 at-bats. Overall on the season, Alonso has posted 10 HR, 34 RBI, and is batting .258 with a .817 OPS. His numbers are backed up by elite metrics including a 17% barrel rate, an overall exit velocity of 92.5 mph, and a strikeout rate of 22.3% which is the lowest of his career.
