Daniel Bard Picks Up 10th Save Of The Season
3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Daniel Bard earned his 10th save of the season on Wednesday when he picked up a strikeout and a walk over one-third of an inning in a 5-2 win over the Seattle Mariners. This was a 5-1 ball game heading into the ninth inning, so Carlos Estevez came in to close things out. He got two outs with a J.P. Crawford double sandwiched between them before serving up an RBI single to Kyle Seager. At that point, manager Bud Black had seen enough and summoned Bard to close things out. He walked Ty France to start things off but then punched out Jake Bauers to seal the win. Bard now has 10 saves on the year to go along with a 4.15 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 38:13 K:BB over 30 1/3 innings. He has fantasy value for as long he remains the Rockies closer.
