Hey everyone, good morning/afternoon, and welcome to RotoBaller's coverage of League of Legends DFS for both FanDuel and DraftKings. Be on the lookout for coverage of the LPL, LCK, and LEC as well as we have some great analysts covering all LoL leagues for the Summer Split. Today, I'll be focusing on the 5-game LCS slate starting at 5 P.M. EST.
My name is Nathan Van Hare and I'll be covering LCS content for the summer split here on RotoBaller! I'm new to RotoBaller but I'm not new to the eSports DFS area. I've been playing all the eSports DFS I can get my hands ever since April of 2020, and hardly missed a day. As someone who didn't know much about eSports two years ago, it has really surprised me to see how passionate and dedicated I've become about something I knew next to nothing about just two years ago.
Today I'll be bringing you my League of Legends advice and analysis for the five-game LCS slate that locks on Saturday, June 26th, at 5:00 PM ET. Thanks for reading, you can find me on Twitter @nvanhareDFS for more DFS related content!

Immortals vs Golden Guardians
Once again, another LCS slate, another opportunity to stack against the bottom of the barrel. Golden Guardians continues to prove themselves as an efficient punching bag for all teams to beat up on in the LCS. The odds imply that this game is relatively close but in the grand scheme Immortals has actually played some good LoL this split and yesterday took down CLG who are up-and-coming contenders in the league. The know how to control the game and play to their advantages, a skill set that GG does not possess.
There's leverage and there's a futile effort. Using GG in gpps falls in the latter category where I think the odds should really be closer to 85% implied for Immortals. This is the lowest game total on the slate so I wont be attacking it much in cash or in gpps but there's definitely an argument/option to use them in small 2-3 stacks for gpps.
Top Immortals: Insanity, Raes, Xerxe
Cloud9 vs. 100 Thieves
This game is definitely one of the more interesting ones on the slate and in the summer split overall. C9 and 100T are two of the top teams in the league and both play at a high pace. C9 has won 5 of the last 6 maps/games of the series against 100T but in bo1 NA LoL, it's anyone's game on any given day.
I do side with C9 here as they are a much better working team with Zven back in their lineup. 100T has also shown some struggles this split so far and they have been lucky to be able to take advantage of their opponent's mistakes when they're at a deficit like with Dignitas yesterday. C9 wont make mistakes when they get an early lead. 100T is going to have to play very very well to win this one, not saying it's impossible but they need to be flawless.
Top Cloud9 Plays: Zven, Blaber
Top 100 Thieves Plays: Abbedagge, Closer

CounterLogic Gaming vs. Liquid
CLG has really shown up the past few games but they're up against a top team in team Liquid today. Even with the replacement of Santorin with Armao they proved to be dominant yesterday in their game vs Evil Geniuses. Not only did Armao play adequately for TL, but he played well and actually really benefited this team. I'm not sure what Liquid's plans for the long run are with him but if he slots in well while Santorin is gone we might see him take a spot on the LCS roster. CLG is a worse team than EG overall although they arent hindered by Jiizuke like EG. This makes me think that CLG has a larger opportunity to snowball a game early and put up ceiling scores.
I've been using CLG in GPP builds for the long run, even last split, so I don't plan on stopping now. CLG isn't too big of an underdog against TL here and they carry upside at lower ownership, definitely a spot I'm looking to take on today's slate. Look to roster CLG's upper lanes as their BOT lane isn't anything to write home about.
Top Liquid Plays: Armao, Jensen
Top CLG Plays: Pobelter, Finn, Broxah
Dignitas vs. FlyQuest
Bottom of the barrel derby here. Both FQ and Dignitas have severely disappointed my expectations this split but today one of them will be able to redeem themselves. I love this game for use in gpps. Neither of these teams is technically proficient, neither plays with a safe LoL strategy. I expect to see a lot of skirmishes and early. In gpps I'm looking to use stacks from this game almost always and capitalize on this perceived upside from each of the teams.
Dignitas with Dardoch and Soligo was a much better team than with Akaadian and Yusui but that helps both them and FQ in this matchup for DFS purposes. I expect this game to be one of the the two highest scoring games on the slate and will definitely be making the most of this matchup.
Top DIG Plays: Neo, Akaadian
Top FQ Plays: Palafox, Josedeodo
Team SoloMid vs. Evil Geniuses
If you've been reading the last few articles I've put out, I think it's pretty clear I have a severe bias against EG. It doesn't end today. TSM is a much better overall team than EG and with PoE vs Jiizuke (who’s the worst) in the Mid lane - I expect this game to be lopsided fairly quickly. Having the dominant midlane will transfer into opportunities for dives elsewhere and really open up the game in general. That being said, this still isn't a game I'm loving for DFS. TSM does like to play a slow pace in which they control everything about the game. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 12 kill win from them in an overpowering fashion.
Look to take advantage of PoE's advantage and use him in your small stacks along with TSM team slot. Both of these carry immense upside in this matchup.
Top TSM Plays: PowerOfEvil, TSM
Summary
- Attack the DIG/FQ game. I'm going to be using an insane amount of it within my lineups.
- Immortals make for a good cash play but I don't think they carry too much upside.
- CLG has shown that they like to fight, a lot. They and their opponents make for solid GPP plays all the time and they do as well.
- I'm not one to make predictions but I'm going to have a fun 5 game parlay each week where I post my picks here in the summary. This week I'm going with C9, IMT, CLG, TSM, DIG. Good luck to all playing!
