We have a nice-sized Monday slate to dissect with lots of batting and pitching options for us to consider. We have some good pitching options on this slate so we will need to figure out which one can get us a few strikeouts and a win while also choosing between some great offenses like Houston, New York, Boston, and Los Angeles to choose from.

DraftKings DFS Pitchers
Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:
Freddy Peralta - MIL vs. CHC ($10,500)
Peralta is the top arm for this slate as he takes on the Cub s at home. Peralta is 7-2 on the season with a 2.11 ERA and is 4-1 at home with a 1.55 ERA and a .67 WHIP when pitching at Miller Park this year. While the Cubs have a few dangerous bats in their lineup, they have struggled to hit Peralta this year as they are batting .180 as a team in three games while striking out 25 times. The Cubs have been struggling against right-handed pitchers as they are batting .170 over the last 14 days while having a team strikeout rate of 31.7% so there is massive upside to rostering Peralta.
Alternate Play(s)
Lucas Giolito - CHW @ MIN ($10,300)
While Trevor Bauer and Freddy Peralta will be the highest-owned pitchers on this slate for good reason, you could save a few bucks and look to rostering Lucas Giolito. Giolito has been a little up and down this year as he is 5-5 with a 3.80 ERA but has big-time strikeout upside as he has recorded at least seven strikeouts in each o his last five starts. He dominated the Twins earlier this year as he went eight innings, allowing two hits and one earned run while striking out 11 total batters so the upside is there in this matchup against Minnesota.
Kyle Hendricks - CHC @ MIL ($9,100)
Hendricks is a cheaper option than the two listed above and while he might not have the highest upside of all of the pitchers on the slate, he does look good in this matchup against the Brewers. In two games this season against Milwaukee, Hendricks has gone 12 innings while allowing two earned runs and striking out 12 total batters while limiting them to just a team batting average of .227. Hendricks is a durable pitcher as he has gone at least six innings in each of his last eight starts and he benefits from the fact that the Brewers have eight batters that carry a strikeout rate that is greater than 21%.
Other recommended value pitching options: Zack Greinke, Paolo Espino

DraftKings DFS Infielders
Salvador Perez - C, KCR @ BOS ($5,000)
Paying up for catcher might be more of a tournament play on this slate but Sal Perez would be well worth it in this matchup against Garrett Richards. Richards has gotten hit around by righties this year as they are hitting .296 against him with four home runs and Perez is hitting .273 with nine home runs against right-handed pitchers this season.
Jared Walsh - 1B, LAA @ NYY ($4,400)
With a lot of other good first basemen on the slate, Jared Walsh could go overlooked a tad which would be great from a tournament perspective. Walsh is hitting .337 against right-handed pitchers this season and is second on the team with 14 home runs against this handedness. He is sporting a .333 ISO and this works in his favor as lefties have a .216 ISO against Michael King.
Kike Hernandez - 2B/OF, BOS vs. KCR ($3,700)
One guy that has done well against lefty pitchers in his career has been Kike Hernandez. Hernandez has the same number of home runs against lefty pitchers as he does against right-handed pitchers while having roughly 300 fewer at-bats against that handedness. He is only hitting .247 against lefties this season but we are looking for the home run upside when rostering Hernandez against lefties. He has a 40.6% fly-ball rate and pulls 52.2% of batted balls that he hits against lefties and Duffy has a 44.4% fly-ball rate against right-handed batters this season so this seems like a perfect time to roster Hernandez.
Gio Urshela - 3B, NYY vs. LAA ($3,600)
Urshela has been solid against the reverse split as he has fared well against right-handed pitchers this season. He is hitting .262 against them with six home runs and also benefits from playing in Yankee Stadium where he is hitting .300 on the season when at home. Bundy has struggled all season long as he is sporting a 6.68 ERA and has coughed up 14 home runs in 63 total innings pitched.
Xander Bogaerts - SS/OF, BOS vs. KCR ($5,000)
The pricing on Bogaerts is just too good to pass up as he seems a couple hundred bucks cheaper than first expected in this matchup. Bogaerts as crushed lefties this year as he leads the Red Sox with a .350 batting average and is tied for the team-high with four home runs against this handedness. Duffy throws a mixture of pitches to righties but he does throw his fastball 37% of the time which Bogaerts profiles well against as he has a .296 ISO and a .431 XwOBA against that specific pitch type.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Shohei Ohtani - OF, LAA @ NYY ($5,000)
Ohtani heads to the big apple for a series against the Yankees and he looks to be under-priced for this matchup. Ohtani has 16 home runs and is sporting a .365 ISO against right-handed pitchers this season. He has a 44.7% hard-hit rate and has 34% home run to flyball rate and gets a juicy matchup against Michael King who has a 1.38 home run per nine-inning rate and a 12.1% home run to flyball rate.
Michael Brantley - OF, HOU vs. BAL ($4,300)
Brantley is one of the most consistent hitters in the major leagues and he is a steal at his price tag of $4,300. He has recorded a hit in four out of his last five games played while managing to record multi-hit performances in three of those games. Brantley is hitting .387 against righties this year while managing to have a 30.5% line drive rate.
Hunter Renfroe – OF, BOS vs. KCR (3,700)
One of the better value plays on the slate looks to be Hunter Renfroe. Renfroe has really good splits against lefties as he is hitting .343 against that handedness and has a .243 ISO. In addition, he has a 22.2% homerun to flyball rate and a 38.2% hard-hit rate against lefties and should take advantage of the matchup against Danny Duffy.
