Blake Snell Pulled After Four Frames In Blowout Win
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Blake Snell lasted just four innings despite giving up no runs Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Spotted a five-run lead, the left-hander was his own worst enemy, enduring too many long at-bats and requiring 81 pitches to get 12 outs. He fanned three on the day while permitting two knocks and four free passes. Snell continues his turbulent campaign, owning a mediocre 4.99 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 70 ⅓ innings. While the 30 percent strikeout rate buoys his fantasy value, statcast indicators suggest Snell hasn't encountered excessive bad luck. He'll be an SP4 next Friday at home against the Colorado Rockies before the All-Star break.
