Onyeka Okongwu Has Surgery
3 years agoAtlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu (shoulder) recently underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum and is expected to need six months to recover. This is bad news for the team, primarily since the 20-year-old was a reliable option when given a chance, averaging 11 points, 8.8 boards, 2.0 blocks, and a steal as a starter last season (four games). Although Okongwu sits comfortably behind Clint Capela in the rotation, he has a chance to surpass expectations if he gets more minutes when he returns.
