3 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Justin Upton will platoon with right fielder Adam Eaton, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Southern California News Group. Upton will start against lefties and play left field. Upton has slashed .222/.371/.500 versus left-handed pitching this season compared to .232/.292/.426 against righties. The decision comes the day of Jo Adell's promotion to the big leagues, with him being given an everyday job in the outfield. Adell will try to justify the move by showcasing his raw power that led to .592 slugging with 23 HRs in 73 minor-league games this season.
