DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/15/21): MLB DFS Lineups

Happy Sunday gang! We have a ten-game slate on our hands this afternoon. We'll have to keep up with the weather as the morning goes on, as it's a tough one to tackle. I'll do my best to update before lock if there are any weather concerns with the guys I have listed below. Let's get right to it!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/12/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. It’s also important to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Sean Manaea - OAK @ TEX ($10,400)

Sean Manaea has been cold of late. He's allowed eight earned runs in just six innings in his last two starts. Despite that, he still has a 3.43 ERA on the year. Before that though, he'd logged 15 straight DKpts in four straight starts. He has a strong matchup in Texas in a game his team should win.

Triston McKenzie - CLE @ DET ($7,800)

Pitching is dry today, so we have to dig in the mid-range and grab Triston McKenzie. McKenzie had started against Detroit once this year and went five scoreless innings, racking up five strikeouts. I'll run him out there today.

Other Options: Eduardo Rodriguez ($9,800), Sonny Gray ($9,500)

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Salvador Perez - C, KC vs STL ($4,900)

Salvy has mashed left-handed pitching all year and now gets a matchup with J.A. Happ. It's a familiar one for Perez, as he's faced Happ on 26 different occasions, going 11-26 with five homers in the process. He'll be a favorite among catchers today, and for good reason.

Bobby Dalbec - 1B, BOS vs BAL ($3,100)

Dalbec has been unstoppable in the last three days. He's 7-11 with two doubles, a triple, and three homers since Thursday. He's also logged 11 RBIs in the process. He matches up against Keegan Akin today, whom he's 2-2 with a double in their previous matchups. Great value at his price.

Whit Merrifield - 2B, KC vs STL ($3,700)

Keeping it simple here, he's a leadoff hitter on a team facing J.A. Happ and he's only $3,700. He's also got two homers against Happ in 22 ABs. He does lose his value as a base-stealer if Molina plays, but it shouldn't prevent him from scoring runs.

Hunter Dozier - 3B/OF, KC vs STL ($2,800)

The Royals all in all are just too cheap today, with Dozier coming in at just $2,800. He's been consistent over the last, scoring in his last nine games. He should clean up the baserunners like Merrifield and Perez and fits right into our Royals stack.

Willy Adames - SS, MIL @ PIT ($5,400)

Dillon Peters gets the ball for Pittsburgh today, and it'll likely be a bullpen day on top of that. Peters hasn't racked up more than three innings in over a month, and really hasn't been that great in AAA. Adames has a .652 wOBA + ISO against southpaws in the last 30 days.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Aramis Garcia - OF, MIL @ PIT ($4,500)

Garcia has been even better than Adames against lefties over the past month. He's logging a 50% hard contact rate along with a .825 wOBA + ISO. The Brewers have been hot as a team lately, so we'll look to attack Peters and the Pirates bullpen today.

Hunter Renfroe - OF, BOS vs BAL ($3,800)

Another lefty killer and a guy who's been hitting the ball out of the ballpark, Renfroe is a cheap option to use as a one-off or use in a Boston stack. Funny enough he's never faced Akin before, but should have no problem hitting value this afternoon.

Tyrone Taylor - OF, MIL @ PIT ($3,400)

If you haven't realized, I love attacking lefties. I'm not sure if it's that the left-handed pitchers always seem to perform worse than their right-handed counterparts, or what it is. Either way, Taylor is having a ball against lefties this year, with a .592 wOBA + ISO and a 43.4% hard contact rate.

DraftKings DFS Stacks

  • Milwaukee Brewers vs. Dillon Peters
  • Kansas City Royals vs. J.A. Happ
  • Boston Red Sox vs. Keegan Akin
  • Oakland Athletics vs. Kolby Allard
