3 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds placed outfielder Jesse Winker (intercostal strain) on the 10-day injured list on Monday and recalled infielder Jose Barrero in a corresponding move. Winker had been attempting to play through some back tightness but he wound up making the issue worse on a swing during Sunday's game. Losing Winker deals a blow to the Reds, who are trying to fight their way into the playoffs via a Wild Card berth. Winker has been a key part of a fearsome Cincy lineup this season, hitting .307 with 24 homers, 77 runs, 71 RBI, and a steal over 109 games.
