Paul Casey's Sunday Putting Will Determine Fate at The Northern Trust
3 years agoPaul Casey has been staying in contention with his putting on Sundays of late. With the changeable conditions on the Liberty course, Casey will have to be on his toes all week. However, Sunday is the key. The last few weeks have seen the British golfer come close to winning. A few errant putts and shots have been his undoing. It may take somewhere between -14 and -16 to win this tournament. Casey has shot in that range the last two tournaments entered -- the Olympics and the FedEx-WGC. Casey's tee to green game is seventh best on tour, including his work getting to the greens. That 1.404 strokes gained is hard to ignore. The Par 5's are mostly manageable except for that 611-yard behemoth. Casey can easily contend but again it will come down to late putting on Sunday.
