Two-game slate on Friday night in the WNBA, and we'll likely see Breanna Stewart for the first time since the Olympics.
In addition to the Storm and Liberty facing off, we get a Fever/Wings game that should be...a basketball game. Sorry, hard to hype up any Fever games at this point.
In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/21/21. These lineups picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Want to talk more about the WNBA? WNBA DFS Lineup Picks: Guard
Courtney Williams (Atlanta Dream) - vs Mercury - DK: $9,500, FD: $
Tiffany Hayes is back, but Courtney Williams is still a great play because...well, because she's Courtney Williams, and even with Hayes back, she took 22 shots and finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, one block, and one steal last game.
Williams is a shooter. Against a team like Phoenix with some poor backcourt defense, Williams is going to score some baskets. You'll want her in your lineups.
Crystal Bradford (Atlanta Dream) - vs Mercury - DK: $8,300, FD: $
Hayes returning concerns me some when it comes to playing Crystal Bradford, but Bradford still made the most of her reduced minutes last game.
They were only reduced to 22 minutes, which is good. And in those 22 minutes, she filled up the score sheet, with seven points on 3-for-7 shooting with five rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal.
Bradford's rebounds have been particularly helpful for DFS players, as they've helped boost her score on nights when her three-pointer hasn't really been falling.
Allie Quigley (Chicago Sky) - vs Lynx - DK: $7,600, FD: $X
This sixth-woman role is really working for Quigley.
She's been the spark off the Sky bench and has put up 35-plus fantasy points in both games since the Olympic break.
Against Dallas, Quigs scored 27 points, including going 7-for-9 from three, and also added a rebound, three assists, and one steal.
The W's best shooter in a vacuum, Quigley is currently playing some of the best basketball of her WNBA career. And somehow, the DFS pricing isn't catching up to this fact yet. Take advantage of that while you can.
WNBA DFS Lineup Picks: Forward
Brittney Griner (Phoenix Mercury) - @ Dream - DK: $11,000, FD: $
Brittney Griner has been incredible since the Olympic break, with at least 40 fantasy points in each game.
Last game, Griner went OFF. 30 points on 13-for-20 shooting, with 12 rebounds, five assists, one block, and one steal.
Now she faces an Atlanta team that doesn't really have anyone who can stop Griner. She's already faced them once since the break, scoring 14 points and pulling down 10 boards while also adding five assists and three blocks.
The Mercury are running more plays through Griner, which is really good for Phoenix and for anyone rostering Griner in fantasy.
Candice Dupree (Atlanta Dream) - vs Mercury - DK: $6,800, FD: $
Okay, I'm loading up too much on Dream players. Don't just exclusively play the six players in this lineup, even if I'll run a line with all of them.
But with Cheyenne Parker out the rest of the year, Dupree is going to get so many chances in Atlanta. She's played 30-plus minutes in two games in a row, with at least 10 points in each of them.
While I don't love the matchup against Griner's Mercury team, Dupree's going to get enough opportunities to make her a solid DFS play most nights. Her price could definitely get too high for my liking, but for now, I'll keep rostering her.
Azura Stevens (Chicago Sky) - vs Lynx - DK: $6,700, FD: $X
So, I'm assuming that Candace Parker is missing this game with an ankle injury. In that case, there will be a lot of opportunities for Stevens in this game.
With Parker playing just 16 minutes last game, Stevens played 25 minutes, scoring 14 points on 6-for-11 shooting and adding five rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.
I'm a huge Azura Stevens fan. The fact she hasn't taken a giant leap this year for the Sky has been a surprise for me, but I think she's definitely on the upswing right now.
I don't love that she faces the Lynx, but I'll bet on the expanded opportunities over the matchup at this price.
