3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray took the loss on Sunday when he allowed five runs on six hits with three walks and eight strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings. Gray had just two bad innings but it was enough to allow five earned runs and saddle him with the loss. Daulton Varsho smacked a three-run homer off him in the second inning and Josh Rojas and Ketel Marte both drew bases-loaded walks in the sixth inning to score Gray's inherited runners. He did manage to punch out eight but it wasn't a great outing from the veteran hurler. He'll carry his 4.13 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 123:50 K/BB ratio over 124 1/3 innings into his next start against the Dodgers on the road.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
