Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 7

Darnell Mooney - fantasy football rankings news NFL DFS lineup picks

Another week of NFL action is behind us. Are there any players left on the waiver wire wasteland? Let's find out. Below, you'll find some wideouts that you should be targeting on the waiver wire ahead of Week 7.

Not all options are the same. Some players may be better in PPR or deeper leagues, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all comparison. Use your best judgment when deciding which of these players is the right fit for your roster.

Be sure to also check out our Waiver Wire Adds for Week 7 for help at all the skill positions. All players on this list here are around 50% rostered or below.

Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins

65% rostered

Waddle had his breakout. With Tua Tagovailoa back under center, the rookie wideout was targeted 13 times, catching 10 passes for 70 yards and a pair of scores. Both touchdowns came in the red zone too, which is some encouraging usage. He's got a chance to turn into — pardon the reference — Tua's Jarvis Landry, someone who consistently makes an impact in the short passing game. Miami does not have a bye next week despite playing in London on Sunday. Instead, they get a juicy matchup with the Falcons.

Henry Ruggs III, Las Vegas Raiders

53% rostered

It looked like Ruggs was poised for a bigger game than he had, as he had three catches for 97 yards and a touchdown. But hey, Ruggs is a big play receiver, and he made big plays in this game. Volume is going to continue to be an issue with Ruggs, but he's capable of getting these giant, deep touchdowns, and he's posted at least 46 yards in every game this season. He's a boom/bust player, but the booms can be pretty big The Eagles matchup in Week 7 is as good a time as any to bet on upside.

Sterling Shepard, New York Giants

51% rostered

Kadarius Toney saw three targets on the first drive...and then left the game with an injury and was almost instantly ruled out. That left Shepard as the lead guy in New York again, and he responded with 10 catches for 76 yards. Honestly, I have no idea what to think about this team right now, but I do know Shepard has completed three full games this season and his fewest targets were nine. He should be a big part of this offense going forward, even if Toney is back next week against Carolina.

Darnell Mooney, Chicago Bears

44% rostered

Another week, another game in which Mooney outperformed Allen Robinson. In a game where the Bears offense struggled, Mooney was targeted eight times, with five catches for 45 yards and a score. Next week, he gets a Buccaneers defense that's given up a bunch of stuff — catches, yards, touchdowns, just literally whatever football-related item you want to include in this list — to opposing passing games. Mooney's going to be a sneaky good Week 7 play.

Christian Kirk, Arizona Cardinals

44% rostered

Kirk's eight targets led Arizona's receivers, and he turned that into five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown.

A.J. Green, Arizona Cardinals

44% rostered

Green also had five catches, but his went for 79 and a touchdown. The Cardinals passing game is really, really full. Here's my read on it: Green has the higher ceiling, Kirk has the higher floor, and you should pick whichever one up that makes the most sense depending on your needs. Of course, the trade for Zach Ertz could complicate things, so...yeah, stay tuned!

K.J. Osborn, Minnesota Vikings

8% rostered

Osborn opened the season with two really good games, but his numbers dropped off after that. Well, Sunday saw him get back to those early ways, with six catches for 78 yards and a score. The Vikings are on a bye next week, so keep that in mind if you're trying to decide if you should add him.

Donovan Peoples-Jones, Cleveland Browns

1% rostered

Big day for Peoples-Jones, who caught four passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns. He had 11 targets over the past two games. That's the good stuff. The bad: 57 of that was on a Hail Mary at the end of the first half, and that's obviously not something that really gets replicated. But hey, three for 44 and a score for someone rostered in one percent of leagues is still interesting.

Nico Collins, Houston Texans

1% rostered

Collins returned from IR and was targeted six times, pulling in four of those for 44 yards. He is, technically, someone that some fantasy managers may be interested in adding in some deep leagues.

Dante Pettis, New York Giants

0% rostered

In a deep league where you're absolutely desperate for production, Pettis could be a guy, depending on injury status next week for Kadarius Toney, Kenny Golladay, and Darius Slayton. With all three sidelined Sunday, he saw 11 targets. Will that happen again? Probably not. But, uhh, 11 targets is notable.

Jamal Agnew, Jacksonville Jaguars

0% rostered

Here's what I wrote about Agnew last week:

Okay, don't actually pick up Agnew, but I just wanted an excuse to mention that a converted cornerback had six catches for 41 yards. That was weird.

Well, this week he had five catches for 58 yards. It, uhh, might be time to actually take notice of Jamal Agnew. 11 catches over the past two games. The bye week is coming up so you probably don't need to pick him up just yet, but he should be on your radar now.
