3 years agoSan Antonio Spurs small/power forward Doug McDermott (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against Atlanta due to continued inflammation in his right knee. With McDermott down, Keita Bates-Diop will again join the starting five, although he only played 19 minutes with the same role Monday. The absence of the sharpshooting McDermott has opened added field-goal attempts for Lonnie Walker IV and Devin Vassell, both of whom got up double-digit shots in San Antonio's latest outing. The next chance for McDermott and his 10.4 points per game average to return to action comes Friday vs. the Celtics.--Jesse Borek
