Ja Morant Does Not Have Timetable For Return
3 years agoMemphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (knee) will be sidelined for an undetermined period of time at this stage after sustaining a sprained left knee in Friday's contest. Head coach Taylor Jenkins confirmed Saturday that Morant would return again this season, but he will officially miss his first game of the year Sunday vs. Sacramento. Tyus Jones and De'Anthony Melton both stand to see increased PG duties without Morant in the mix, with Jones presenting a sound short-term stream option while Memphis reconfigures its rotation. Having averaged 24.1 points, 6.8 assists, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.6 steals across his first 19 contests, Morant was marching toward his first All-Star appearance, an honor that may have to wait depending on his timetable.
