3 years agoCharlotte Hornets shooting guard Cody Martin (illness) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Bulls due to a non-COVID-19 illness. Martin's absence will mark his first game missed of the season, making it unclear how head coach James Borrego will distribute his sizable minutes allotment among the second unit. Known primarily for his defensive acumen, Martin is on pace to average new career highs with 7.7 points and 4.1 rebounds, in addition to shooting a whopping 47.6 percent from behind the arc. Kelly Oubre Jr. could see a slight minutes bump without Martin available, while James Bouknight could join the rotation. The next chance for Martin to suit up comes Wednesday vs. Milwaukee.--Jesse Borek
