Josh Giddey, Derrick Favors Will Miss Next Two Contests
3 years agoOklahoma City Thunder shooting guard/small forward Josh Giddey (illness) and center Derrick Favors (illness) have both been ruled out for the team's games Wednesday against Houston and Thursday vs. the Grizzlies. For Giddey, they will mark the first two absences of his career, as the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft has gotten off to a strong start in his first year. Favors' absence will reach at least three games, with the veteran ceding way in the frontcourt to Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. While Giddey's shooting percentage (39.1%) has left something to be desired in category style formats, he has delivered an average of 10.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists on a nightly basis across his first 20 outings. The next chance that either will have at suiting up comes Monday in Detroit.
