Courtland Sutton Posts Another Dud In Week 13
3 years agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton was barely heard from yet again in the 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night in Week 13. Sutton finished the game with two receptions on six targets for a measly 15 yards. Really the only good news in this one was the fact that his six targets were tied for second-most on the team with Jerry Jeudy. Since Jeudy returned from a high ankle sprain in Week 8, Sutton has nine catches for 110 yards and no touchdowns on 18 targets in five games. That says it all right there. The Broncos prefer not to throw the ball too much if they don't have to, and when they do, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater usually spreads it around to a bunch of different weapons. The 26-year-old has found his way to the bench is most fantasy leagues.

Courtland Sutton A Must-Start In Week 1
3 years agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton enters the Week 1 season opener on Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks as new quarterback Russell Wilson's top target. The 26-year-old was Wilson's favorite target in training camp and has looked like his 2019 Pro Bowl self, when he caught 72 passes for a career-high 1,112 yards and six touchdowns. Sutton tore his ACL in 2020 and played in only one game that year, and he returned in 2021 to catch 58 of 98 targets for 776 yards and two scores. As Wilson's go-target through the air in 2022, Sutton could be in line for his best season as a pro. The Seahawks pass defense was actually pretty stingy against opposing wideouts last year in terms of fantasy points per game, but Sutton will be a must-start high-end WR2 to kick things off on Monday night.

Courtland Sutton Has Been Russell Wilson's Favorite Target
3 years agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton should be poised to take a big leap with quarterback Russell Wilson throwing him the ball deep in 2022. The 6-foot-4, 216-pounder has been Wilson's favorite target during training camp, and the former second-rounder has been winning jump balls down the field like he did in his Pro Bowl season in 2019 before he suffered a torn ACL. There will be no shortage of targets for Sutton this year after the Broncos lost fellow receiver Tim Patrick (knee) for the entire season due to a torn ACL. The 26-year-old should mesh well with Wilson all year and will be a popular target in fantasy football drafts this fall. Consider him a strong WR2 with upside for more in 2022.

Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy To Have Prominent Roles
3 years agoWith Denver Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick (knee) out for the year, receivers Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy will have more prominent roles in the offense. Quarterback Russell Wilson has shown in training camp that he's going to move the ball around to find favorable matchups, but he's also shown in practices that when he really needs a completion or has been moved off his spot by the pass rush, he's looking for Sutton. But it remains to be seen if that tendency will hold up in games, and Jeudy is too good of a route-runner to not be a factor. If both Sutton and Jeudy stay healthy throughout the year, ESPN.com's Jeff Legwold thinks they'll both have their best years. Sutton is slightly more attractive as a WR2 in fantasy football because he has more experience and has a 1,000-yard season under his belt, but both pass-catchers could have very nice seasons with Wilson as their QB.

Courtland Sutton Working Through Shoulder Issue
3 years agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton (shoulder) received a massive quarterback upgrade during the offseason when the Broncos traded for Russell Wilson. Sutton and teammate Jerry Jeudy are expected to form an exciting tandem this season. Sutton had his foot evaluated in practice on Sunday and was reported to have "a little shoulder thing we're just working through" in practice on Tuesday. Neither injury seems major, and the fact that he was still able to participate in practice is a good sign, but it would be beneficial for Sutton to be getting reps with Wilson to establish a strong rapport. Sutton will be a top-30 fantasy receiver this year, with a chance to crack the top 15 if he dominates the targets in this offense.
