3 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves point/shooting guard D'Angelo Russell (shin) has been tagged as doubtful to play in Tuesday's contest vs. the Nuggets. Russell has missed each of Minnesota's past two outings due to the ailment, which has allowed Jaylen Nowell and Jordan McLaughlin, respectively, to earn spot starts. With Patrick Beverley (ankle) trending toward getting the green light against Denver, he would stand to see elevated assist duties alongside Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns for as long as Russell remains sidelined. The southpaw is coming off a strong stint in January (11 games) where he shot 49 percent overall, far and away his highest mark during 2021-22 thus far.--Jesse Borek
