Hideki Matsuyama Has Fantastic Upside At Bay Hill
3 years agoHideki Matsuyama will tee it up at Bay Hill for the eighth time in his PGA Tour career this week. In his first seven starts at the event, Matsuyama has yet to miss a cut, with three top-25 finishes. However, in his last five starts at the event, Matsuyama has an average finish of 40th. The reason for the less-than-impressive finishes has been due to the putter. Up until last season, Matsuyama was one of the worst putters on the PGA Tour. However, over the last two seasons, Matsuyama has been average on the greens. In his last five starts, Matsuyama has gained strokes on the greens in four of them, and only lost strokes in one. The last event Matsuyama gained over a full stroke on the greens was the Sony Open, which he won. His all-around game will see Matsuyama make the cut this week, but his putter will be make-or-break this week.
