Kevin Durant Logs 31 Points In Return To Action
3 years agoBrooklyn Nets power forward Kevin Durant suited up in Thursday's defeat to Miami, marking his first game action since Jan. 15 after he sustained a sprained left MCL. Interim coach Jacque Vaughn did not specify a minutes limit for Durant, who wound up playing 35 minutes and used his time on the floor to drop 31 points on 10-for-21 shooting. What was apparent in Durant's first game back was that his offensive rhythm looks not to have missed a beat, but also that he will be the team's unquestioned top scoring threat, especially when Kyrie Irving isn't on the floor. Next up comes a showdown with the Celtics on Sunday, who boast the league's second-best defensive efficiency this season, although Durant -- who has scored at least 24 points in each of his last 20 full games -- has become largely matchup proof.
