Wendell Carter Jr. Ruled Out Friday, Chuma Okeke Will Start
3 years agoOrlando Magic power forward/center Wendell Carter Jr. (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Raptors, paving the way for Chuma Okeke to slide into the starting five. Carter tied his season high with 41 minutes played Wednesday, an outing in which he logged his sixth consecutive double-double. Okeke, who will be making his 11th start of the season, has not had a discernibly larger offensive role when among the first five. His shooting percentage as a starter sits at just 36.1%, having averaged 1.2 more PPG among the starting unit (9.4, vs. 8.2 as a reserve). Carter's next chance to take the floor comes Saturday vs. Memphis, while Okeke's DFS value is inherently tied to Carter's availability.
