3 years agoLA Clippers power forward/center Robert Covington (personal) has been ruled out for Friday's contest vs. the Hawks. Covington has been absent from the Clippers' past three outings, paving the way for Nicolas Batum and Ivica Zubac to snag a handful of additional minutes. Covington has averaged 8.2 points and 5.3 boards in 12 outings since joining LA, although he has had to transition to a bench role after starting 40 games with Portland. The veteran has averaged at least 1.5 made triples and better than one steal and block per outing in each of the last three years, aiding his season-long appeal in category formats. His next chance to return to action comes Sunday against Detroit.--Jesse Borek
