BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 28% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez is highly unlikely to maintain his 2.72 ERA and 1.04 WHIP that you will find on his seasonal stat sheet. What you can say, though, is that since he shook off the rust following a DL stint in May, Sanchez has posted a quality start four out of seven times with a 40-to-11 strikeout-to-walk ratio over those 41 ⅔ innings.
Again, he is not a low-two’s ERA guy, but his 3.76 SIERA from this window shows that he has value in deeper leagues, particularly considering that the Braves are winning games. You want to target pitchers in the NL East, especially those on Atlanta, Philadelphia and Washington.
Maybe his best games of 2018 are behind him, but he is a good addition in deeper leagues for wins at a minimum. If for nothing else, pick him up for a few weeks and flip him to a pitching-starved owner that will overvalue him for the remainder of the season.
