BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 9% of leagues
ANALYSIS: St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Austin Gomber had not allowed an earned run in either of his last two starts and nearly pulled off his magic again on Monday. He had fired off four scoreless frames against the Dodgers before they finally got him for two runs in the fifth. The Cardinals were up 3-2 at that point, but the bullpen couldn’t hold on for his third straight win.
The southpaw's 36-to-23 K-to-BB ratio is terrifying and he might have gone about as far as a 7.1% K-BB% is going to take you. While his 2.98 ERA is attractive, a 4.29 FIP is not, and his .267 BABIP can make anyone uneasy.
Tread carefully, but we also respect anyone chasing a hot hand. He is more of an addition in deeper leagues, but is worth a look while he is pitching this well.
