St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Mike Mayers was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday. He'll go back down to make room for Alex Reyes on the 25-man roster. Mayers is one of a few Cardinals relievers who has gone up and down several times already this season. He'll likely be back up before too long.

Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game. It's a regular day of rest for Lindor, who will be replaced at shortstop by Erik Gonzalez.
