BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team PPR Leagues / 14 Team Standard Leagues
OWNED IN: 58% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: If you’re in a PPR league and Sims is still out there, or someone dropped him due to the Buccaneers’ bye week, you should definitely scoop him up. The success of Doug Martin so far in 2015 has overshadowed how effective Charles Sims has been as a change of pace and pass catching back for Tampa Bay. He has looked exceptionally elusive and quick this year, while last year he appeared to be indecisive and just wasn't converting on his chances.
Week 5's game against the Jaguars was a high scoring contest, so it won't be the norm, but it was great to see Sims average over four YPC (12 carries for 51 yards) and also rip off large chunks of yards on passing routes (four receptions for 85 yards). As long as he shows strength behind his runs, then offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter may turn more towards his two running backs in the future rather than his two underperforming wide receivers (Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson). For what it's worth, I'd rather own Sims than Theo Riddick or other PPR newcomer Chris Thompson, but that's reflected already in ownership levels. This is mainly due to the willingness of Tampa Bay to use Sims as a runner versus those other two, and should something happen to Doug Martin, Charles Sims would see the greatest chance at being a legitimate RB1 candidate.
