The Washington Redskins have a reputation for having a good run defense, but it appears that Chris Ivory didn't get the memo. He was electric on Sunday for the New York Jets as they rolled to a 34-20 victory over Washington. Ivory finished the game with 20 carries for 146 yards and a touchdown, while also catching three passes for 50 yards.
When a player gets close to 200 total yards, one has to applaud the effort. Ivory has run hard all year for the Jets as long as he's on the field. He showed decisiveness and strength in Sunday's victory, while also showing that his offseason commitment to improving his receiving skills had paid off.
With Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker working outside as a great receiving one-two punch, it means that defenses can't simply stack eight in the box and force Ivory and the Jets to run through walls. Their Week 7 game against the Patriots is going to be a true test, but it looks as though Ivory and the Jets are up to the task. After that the Jets get to face the Raiders and the Jaguars, so it looks as though Ivory has a few more opportunities in the near future to replicate Sunday's line. 2015 Chris Ivory is here to make a statement.
