The Wednesday slate winds up being a great one because many of the pitching aces return. Rest assured, there are still a few streamer hitters and pitchers readily available.
In today's article, the hitting streamers will focus on a 2019 All-Star infielder, a post-hype infield sleeper, and a newly acquired outfielder. On the other side, the pitching streamers are two young up and coming starting pitchers, and an Opening Day veteran starter.
When choosing my daily hitter streamers, I examine their platoon splits, lineup position, and pitching matchup. With pitchers, I account for the opposing lineup, team ballpark, and recent performance to help make my decision. Each of my streamers will be rostered in between 0-40% of Yahoo leagues, with a mixed focus on both shallow and deeper formats. Let’s take a look at the Monday slate and dig out some streamer gems to help you start the week off on the right track.

Hitter Streamers for 7/29
Tommy La Stella (2B/3B, LAA,LHB) - 14% Rostered
Matchup: vs. SEA RHP Justin Dunn
La Stella is fresh off a career year where he hit 16 HR with a .295/.353/486 slash line. He did a majority of his damage against right-hand pitching. Thirteen of those 16 HRs came against righties. He faces off against Justin Dunn, who served as an opener for only a few games last year. In four innings pitched, Dunn struggled drastically with command and walked nine batters. La Stella gets slotted all over the Angels lineup that features Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon. Ahead or behind them, there is a great chance to rack up counting stats.
Colin Moran (2B/3B, PIT, LHB) - 18% Rostered
Matchup: vs. MIL RHP Brandon Woodruff
Moran has been one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball so far. Along with three HRs, he also collected a hit in every game. Today he draws a tougher opposing pitcher, Brandon Woodruff. However, in Woodruff’s first start, he struggled to strikeout batters and didn’t deep into the game. Moran will bat in the middle of the Pittsburg lineup. Plug him into your lineup until he cools off.
Trent Grisham (OF, SDP, LHB) - 24% Rostered
Matchup: @ SF RHP Johnny Cueto
Trent Grisham continues to find himself hitting second in the Padres lineup, between Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado. Grisham has been swinging a hot bat with a hit in four of his last five games. The potential matchup against right-hander, Johnny Cueto, should have a fantasy owner salivating. In a 124 career at-bat sample size against right-handers, Grisham hit five home runs with a .177 ISO. He is an extremely toolsy hitter that is capable of taking walks, steal a base, or mashing a home run. Pick him up and start him today!
Pitcher Streamers for 7/29
Zach Plesac (RHP, CLE) vs. CWS - 12% Rostered
Plesac finds he way into the Indian’s rotation as the fifth starter. Last year, after he dominated the minor leagues, Plesac started 21 games with about 115 innings pitched and a 3.81 ERA. He features a slider with a massive whiff rate and changeup that keep hitters off balance by inducing weak contact. Plesac draws the struggling Chicago White Sox, who are yet to put up over three runs in a game. Plesac could be a great upside play this afternoon.
Danny Duffy (LHP, KC) @ DET- 9% Rostered
Danny Duffy opened up the season for the Royals and faired pretty well, considering the lay of the pitching landscape. He threw 4.1 innings while giving up two runs on 65 pitches. He matches up on the road against the Detroit Tigers in the very favorable pitchers park, Commerica. There is a lot of swing and miss potential in the Tigers lineup, so expect the strikeouts for Duffy.
Daniel Ponce De Leon (RHP, STL) @ MIN - 2% Rostered
Ponce De Leon gets his shot in the rotation after Miles Mikolas was put on the IL. He showed great potential in 2019 with his ability to limit contact and create whiffs. Last year Ponce had a 3.70 ERA in 48.2 innings pitched and 1.27 WHIP. His out pitch is a breaking ball that only allowed a 0.92 xBA and 23.1 Whiff%. He faces off against the red hot Minnesota Twins, but very few of the seen Ponce's stuff before as they were in the AL.
