ANALYSIS: Danny Amendola has me excited. Actually, the Lions as a whole have me excited. Matthew Stafford is back healthy and although he only completed 24 of his 42 pass attempts he still threw for 297 yards, of which 81 came from Amendola's exploits on the field against the Bears. Stafford is a booming quarterback, and Amendola is an experienced as they get. Nothing not to love here.

That allowed Danny to finish with the 6th-highest Y/R (16.2) average among wide receivers with at least 7 targets through Sunday's games. It is obvious that over the full 2020 season we'll see Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. climb up the targets/opportunities boards among Lions' receivers, but it is also great to know that Amendola hasn't lost a step in his age-34 season.
Just this past week, Jones Jr. logged eight targets and rookie Quintez Cephus led Detroit with 10 himself. While Golladay is out, and even when he comes back, Amendola should still retain the WR3 role in this offense. Amendola had four games over 17-PPR points last season and an average of 9.4 over the full year, so finding him scoring 13.1 in Week 1 is right there on par with his expectations while his ownership rate is super low for someone as solid as Amendola can be weekly.
